We in America don’t hate porn enough.
64% of “Christian” men and 15% of “Christian” women say they watch porn at least once a month.
90% of teens and 96% of young adults are either encouraging, accepting, or neutral when they talk about porn with their friends.
Men, one of the most selfish, unmanly, and gross things for you to be, is enslaved to your lust. Lust and porn is a dragon that wants to bring total destruction to your soul, your marriage, your family, and your society. It has already burned down an uncountable number of marriages and families.
I don’t care how much you can lift at the gym. I don’t care how good you are with a gun at the range. I don’t care how much you make and how hard you work at your job. I don’t care how much you talk about how you would do anything to protect and provide for your family. I don’t care how strong you think you are if you don’t even have enough self-control to not get on your phone and look at porn when no one is watching. You haven’t learned the first thing about loving your wife and family.
Will your daughters ever be able to look at you the same again if or when they find out one day that daddy is addicted to objectifying thousands of women a year for selfish pleasure? Will the wife of your youth ever be able to feel fully safe and cherished in your arms again? Christ can redeem, but that doesn’t mean the damage that is done will fully undo itself on earth. Kill the dragon now! Hate your selfishness. Repent from the heart. Trust in Christ to deliver you. Christ can and has redeemed many men from this great evil, but as long as you see this sin as not that big of a deal, you will never be free. You must detest it, and you must be willing rather to die than dishonor Christ by going to that website again. No more excuses. Expose yourself to the light. Repent and trust that God can make you free, for He surely can.
Side note…
(If you are free from this sin by God’s grace, then be humble and do not think of yourself as above the point of stumbling. Pride goes before destruction.)
Another side note… (This sin is amongst women as well, but this post is for the guys due to porn being more popular amongst men.)
